Joe Strummer Reissues 2012

To celebrate 2012 reissues of a RocK pioneer and legend, Joe Strummer/CLASH, AC Weekly Entertainment has rerun my interview August 2002 and Tribeca Film participation in 2004. 10 Years ago, I attained the distinction of being the last American DJ to interview Strummer before he departed the States for a short fall tour of Japan in 2002. He would die unexpectly at home in December 2002. CAN'T believe it's been 10 years! Here is the archived story:

Joe Strummer &
The Mescaleros

Re-Issues (HellCat/Epitaph)

Late Clash leader Joe Strummer would have turned 60 this past summer and the HellCat label has remastered and re-issued the three stellar albums he made between 1999 and his 2002 death with the Mescaleros: Rock Art and the X-Ray Style, Global A Go-Go and Streetcore (one of the best albums ever!). The new versions come with rare b-sides, bonus tracks, including previously unreleased live versions of songs such as “The Harder They Come” and “Pressure Drop,” as well as new liner notes penned by Jim Jarmusch and Bill Flanagan specifically for the re-issues. Joe Strummer died too soon, but his final three albums sound even better now and have aged with grace. — Jeff Schwachter

NO Promotion=NOTHING Happens..

"What Could Have Been Love' could be an International hit..

(Today's WZXL.COM  ROCK NEWS)
Aerosmith Members Barely Speaking To Each Other, According To Reports
Members of Aerosmith, who are currently in the midst of their Global Warming tour, are in disarray according to sources speaking with the New York Post's Page Six.
According to one of the sources, the bandmembers are "barely speaking to each other."
Another source said the disarray is due to the poor reception of their latest, Music from Another Dimension, which sold only 65,000 copies in its first week:
"The band isn't really talking. Aerosmith's record came in fifth after Taylor Swift [Red], Now That's What I Call Music: Volume 44, Rod Stewart's Merry Christmas, Baby and Ne-Yo's new release [R.E.D.]. Pretty bad for their first release in a decade. No dates on the current tour are sold out."
A spokesman for the band says that the rumors are unfounded as the band is "doing great and on tour and on fire."

NOT sold out? Slow album sales? These guys make ZERO contact with local radio stations to promote!

GUITAR GREAT Don Felder RoCKS AC 11/16/12

Legendary Guitarist DON FELDER Rocks the Golden Nugget Showroom 11/16/12:

Don Felder and his Band ROCKED the intimate setting of the Showroom at The newly renovated Golden Nugget on Friday night! ONE song after another of EAGLES classics that he co-wrote and recorded with the rest of the band from 1974-2001 took me back in the time machine. I LOVE it when I can become a 70's teenager ALL OVER again! I explained this to Don. He agreed, saying he TOO was a 70's teenager! My (2) ROCKIN' favorites on the setlist: WITCHY WOMAN and his new GIRLS IN BLACK from his latest release Road TO Forever."

He opened the evening with a double-necked guitar jam of HOTEL CALIFORNIA, a rock anthem he co-wrote back in the day.

He closed the evening with the song that got the Eagles soaring in 1972: Take It Easy! WOW!

Did I mention my arms nearly fell out of the socket joints air guitaring to Pride & Joy. Felder introduced it as a "tip of the hat" to the great Stevie Ray Vaughn..

AFTER the show he literally came down front and posed for pictures and greeted fans in attendance. MAN! This guy is a throwback to a rock generation lost. Cheers Don Felder and continued success with all your future endeavers..

The legendary Felder on-air on South Jersey's ROCK Station:
